Lifestream Updates: Amazon.com Wishlists and Zune Playlists

div xmlns:cc=http://creativecommons.org/ns# about=http://www.flickr.com/photos/silvertje/3582813518/in/photostream/a rel=cc:attributionURL href=One problem with Lifestreaming is that occasionally the streams that you’re trying to aggregate change their course and need to be reigned back in.  With my social media push I decided to add a few streams and in the course of this discovered that a few of my existing ones had gone missing. So I needed to fix them.

I’d done this before with Twitter, and this morning I discovered a problem with my Amazon.com wishlist additions and Zune playlists.

Amazon.com Wishlists

You’d think that Amazon would make it easy to share your wishlist data in any way that you want so that people buy you stuff through them.  Amazon does have a nice set of widgets to add to your site with their branding, but no RSS feed as far as I can tell.  I was using Yahoo pipes to generate an RSS feed, but that seems to have stopped working for some reason. Luckily there is My Amazon Wishlist RSS Feeds which will generate your wishlist RSS feeds based on your Amazon.com account email address.  Thanks to them I was back lifestreaming my wishlist updates in no time.

Zune Playlists

It seems that either there is an issue with Yahoo pipes that effects both Amazon Wishlists and Zune plays, or the upgrade for the ZuneHD broke this RSS feed (I suspect the latter).  Regardless,  RSS feed has not been updated since the middle of Spetember.  There isn’t a new pipe yet so I’ve had to revert to an older RSS feed to http://socialapi.zune.net/members/[member id XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX]/playlists/BuiltIn-RecentTracks.  You’ll still need to figure out your Zune Member GUID.

Iwon’t be able to create a new Yahoo pipe, but I’m happy to collaborate if anyone is interested.

Good luck with your lifestreaming.
